A $25 “Fashion for Haiti” T-shirt has been on sale since February 16 at retailers across the country. The proceeds will benefit the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, which is raising funds for immediate, high-impact relief and long-term recovery efforts to help those who are most in need of assistance.

“The tragedy in Haiti has affected everyone and most of us individually have given money for relief,” said Diane von Furstenberg, President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. “However, I think it is now important to send a message and create a channel for funding from fashion as an industry.”

“The total devastation of Haiti is unimaginable. I am always amazed by the strength, talent and compassion of our industry and now more than ever it is essential we come together and help make a difference,” said Ralph Lauren.

“The devastation in Haiti has touched us all deeply,” said Tory Burch. “Now more than ever is the time to ban together and help them get back on the road to recovery.”

“As we watch the story unfold in Haiti, it is our obligation to act,” said Andrew Rosen, President & CEO of Theory. “We must move quickly to raise the much needed money and support for the relief efforts that are beginning now, and that will be required in the months and years to come.”

The “Fashion for Haiti” T-shirt logo was designed by Peter Arnell, who in 2001 created the now iconic mended heart logo for the “Fashion for America” fundraiser, organized by the CFDA and Vogue magazine, which raised $2 million after 9/11 for the Twin Towers Fund. The black and lime green logo features the tagline “Hope Help Heal Haiti” underneath a block design of “To Haiti With Love,” with a map of the nation standing in for the word “Haiti.” The sleeve will be marked with the “Fashion for Haiti” slogan and the inside collar will have “CFDA” printed on it. The “Fashion for Haiti” t-shirt will be available in women’s and men’s styles at retailers nationwide as well as online at www.cfda.com. Information on how to order T-shirts can be placed by contacting fashionforhaiti@cfda.com.

In the wake of the Haitian earthquake crisis, famed LA-based t-shirt line, Kid Dangerous Grime Couture, designed the “HELP HAITI” tee, with all proceeds going to the One Dome At A Time Emergency Fund. One Dome At A Time (ODAAT) is a joint venture between Haitian-born musician and entrepreneur, Won-G and Monolithic Dome Experts, David, Andrew and Rebecca South. One Dome At A Time’s mission is to facilitate and promote the construction of safe, green and clean housing worldwide. They are committed to preserving family and local traditions while supporting education and economic growth in the communities they serve.

With the help of companies like Kid Dangerous, One Dome at a Time is providing immediate relief and working to rebuild housing in Port-au-Prince. The “domes” are rated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency as Near-Absolute Protection from natural disasters including earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and fire.

The design of the t-shirts, available in men’s sizes S-XXL and women’s sizes S-L, builds upon the Haitian flag, featuring the Haitian coat of arms and reads in distressed block lettering, simply “HELP HAITI”. Kid Dangerous opted to retail the t-shirts at the lower price of $35, (these luxury tees normally retail anywhere from $45-90) in order to get awareness out and encourage people to get involved and donate. T-shirts are available for pre-order on the Kid Dangerous website, www.kiddangerous.com and will be available for delivery by January 22nd.

Mary Fanaro, created OmniPeace to address vital humanitarian needs through the distribution and sale of branded consumer products. The L.A. based fashion brand donates 25% of all its profits to efforts committed to promoting peace, education, human rights and ending extreme poverty in Africa by 2025.

In June 2007, a high-end t-shirt line was created by her first licensee, Signorelli. Fanaro’s close friends, Courteney Cox and Naomi Campbell agreed to do simultaneous East Coast/West Coast launches; Naomi at Scoop/NYC and Courteney at Kitson, Los Angeles. Two weeks before the launch, Fanaro was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She still moved forward with her plans for OmniPeace, while also beginning chemotherapy treatment. Launching the company, instead of postponing it, allowed her to stay productive, strong and healthy. While cancer changed her life, OmniPeace was the gift that ended up saving it, which makes the OmniPeace slogan “Can Fashion Save Lives?” very fitting.

OnmiPeace has been a success from the start. Over $300,000 was raised for Millennium Promise and buildOn in the first year alone. Recently OmniPeace, in conjunction with Kitson, joined forces with buildOn to build the first school in forty years in Longhor, Senegal, which opened in January 2009. Fanaro is now in full remission and has signed fifteen new licensees that are responsible for putting the OmniPeace Collection on the map and in major retail stores across the country.
